The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the study of labour shortages, working conditions and the care economy, a press release be published on the committee’s website following the presentation of the report in the House of Commons.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs in relation to the study of Bill C-35, An Act respecting early learning and child care in Canada, be Friday, March 17, 2023.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)d) and the Centennial Flame Research Award Act, the committee resumed its study of the 2023 Centennial Flame Research Award.

It was agreed, — That, the amount for the 2023 Centennial Flame Research Award be set at $7,500; that the deadline for submitting an application to the committee be set at Monday, May 1, 2023; that a press release be published on the committee’s website; and that the Chair and the clerk of the committee be authorized to employ means in order to publicize the award.

At 4:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:27 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, November 21, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (B), 2022-23: Vote 1b under Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, votes 1b and 5b under Department of Employment and Social Development.

The Minister made a statement and, with Jean-François Tremblay, Atiq Rahman, Michael MacPhee, Karen Robertson and Andrew Brown, answered questions.

At 5:34 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
