The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

At 11:38 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 11:43 a.m., the meeting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to drafting a report on the Environment and Climate Impacts Related to the Canadian Financial System study undertaken by the committee in the First Session of the 44th Parliament without receiving new testimony, and that the testimony and documents gathered by the Committee during the first session of the 44th Parliament concerning the study be made available to Committee members and taken into consideration by the Committee during the current session.

At 12:04 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:13 p.m., the meeting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee commenced its study of the effectiveness, potential improvements and capability of Canada's 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan to meet climate action targets in line with its commitments to the Paris Agreement.

Normand Mousseau, Caroline Brouillette and Simon Donner made statements and answered questions.

At 1:20 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
