M-17 Corrections and Conditional Release Act

45th Parliament, 1st Session

Motion Text

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should amend the Corrections and Conditional Release Act to ensure that, in the case of offenders serving a sentence for first degree murder or second degree murder, the Parole Board of Canada conduct all future parole reviews in accordance with the statutory time frames, rather than on application by the offender, once the Board has decided not to grant day or full parole or has cancelled or terminated the offender’s parole.
