Monsieur le Président, puisqu'ils en sont les propriétaires, je suppose qu'ils doivent mettre de côté 1 milliard de dollars dont ils ne nous ont pas parlé.
Chaque fois qu'il est question des pipelines, les libéraux se vantent d'avoir soi-disant conclu des ententes avec les Premières Nations, mais ils ne nous diront jamais en quoi consistent vraiment ces ententes.
Le chef Robert Joseph, l'une des personnes qui, selon les libéraux, appuient le projet du pipeline, a dit ceci:
Au bout du compte, nous sommes plus ou moins favorables aux projets de pipeline, quels qu'ils soient, mais nous estimons qu'ils iront de l'avant de toute manière. Le gouvernement n'écoutera personne, et il en a toujours été ainsi dans le cadre des consultations avec les Premières Nations [...] Il tient des consultations et, peu importe ce qu'on dit, il s'en tient à ce qu'il avait prévu au départ.
Nous en avons assez des consultations bidon et des stratégies consistant à diviser pour mieux régner. Quand les libéraux vont-ils enfin défendre le principe de consentement préalable accordé librement et en pleine connaissance de cause?
Mr. Speaker, I guess, being the owners, they have to put $1 billion aside they have not told us about.
Whenever the Liberals talk about the pipeline, they love to wave around so-called agreements with first nations, but they will not ever tell us what those agreements actually are.
Here is what Chief Robert Joseph said, one of the people the Liberals say support the pipeline:
At the end of the day, we are not really in favour of any pipeline, but we believe it's going to go through anyway. They will not listen to anybody and that's the history of consultation with First Nations people..... They consult and go ahead and do what they were going to do anyways.
Enough with the fake consultations. Enough with the divide and conquer strategies. When are the Liberals actually going to stand up for the principle of free, prior, and informed consent?
