From April 21 to 26, 2024, the committee traveled to New York, United States of America to attend the twenty-third session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII). On May 6, the committee held an informal meeting with a delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom to discuss the committee’s mandate and work, including how members consult with Indigenous and northern communities to represent their needs at the federal level.
