Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 23, 2026, the committee commenced its study of subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (C), 2025-26: Vote 1c, 5c and 10c under the Department of National Defence.

The Minister made a statement and, with Christiane Fox, Heather Sheehy, Stephen Kelsey, answered questions.

At 5:30 p.m. the meeting was suspended.

At 4:09 p.m., on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the meeting resumed in public.

Motion

James Bezan moved, — That the use of Remote Simultaneous Interpretation be banned for the work of the Standing Committee on National Defense and that only in person interpretation be provided to ensure the committee can function in both official languages.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500, for the study of subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (C), 2025-26, be adopted.

At 4:16 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
