Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 23, 2026, the committee resumed its study of Impact of the Defence Industrial Strategy.

The Secretary of State made a statement and, with Vincent Robitaille, answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:43 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of vice-chairs.

On motion of Sherry Romanado, it was agreed, — That Christine Normandin be elected Second Vice-Chair of the committee in absentia.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 23, 2026, the committee resumed its study of Impact of the Defence Industrial Strategy.

Wendy Hadwen, Kate Kaminska and Kendall Hembroff made statements and with Paula Folkes, Vincent Robitaille, and Diogo Brandao, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of recommendations in relation to the study of Francophone and Indigenous Members of the Canadian Armed Forces be Friday, June 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of recommendations in relation to the study of the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces contaminated sites be Friday, June 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the 1st Session of the 44th Parliament in relation to its study of the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces contaminated sites be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session.

At 6:44 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
