Petition to the Government of Canada
Whereas:
- The Canada Health Act states: “that future improvement in health will require the cooperative partnership of governments, health professionals, voluntary organizations and individual Canadians”; and
- “the Parliament of Canada wishes to encourage the development of health services throughout Canada by assisting the provinces in meeting the costs thereof”.
We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to provide better mental health training for public servants by: a) providing intervention training (Mental Health First Aid) through the Mental Health Commission of Canada; and b) providing crisis training.
