C'est un plaisir de vous écouter, monsieur Dufresne. Vous êtes très précis dans vos propos, comme nous le constatons souvent. Étant donné la précision dont vous faites preuve dans vos conseils aux parlementaires, il serait à espérer que le gouvernement se montre aussi précis en retour, mais malheureusement, toute cette confusion tient évidemment au fait qu'il semble avoir manqué de précision entre le premier communiqué et la clarification du second.
Je voulais poursuivre dans la même veine que mon collègue, M. Ste-Marie, qui parlait des différentes étapes d'un projet de loi et, plus précisément, de leur déroulement. Comme il le disait, aucun amendement n'a été proposé à l'étape du Comité. Tout a été adopté. Le projet de loi a également été adopté au Sénat, sans aucun changement.
Si le gouvernement présentait cette mesure législative, ou les modifications qu'il souhaite voir apporter à un autre projet de loi, et si le gouvernement demeure inchangé et le Parlement aussi, ce projet de loi suivra le même processus. Est‑ce exact?

I appreciate hearing from you, Mr. Dufresne. You are very precise in your wording, as we've seen often. Given your precision when you give that advice to parliamentarians, one would hope that the government would also respond with that same precision, but unfortunately all of this confusion of course has come forward because they seem to have lacked the precision between the first press release and the clarification of the second.
I wanted to build off what my colleague, Mr. Ste-Marie, was talking about in terms of those different stages of a bill and specifically how they go through. As he mentioned, there were no amendments proposed at the committee stage of the bill. Everything was passed. It was passed through the Senate as well, with no changes.
If the government were to bring forward this legislation, or the amendments that it wishes to see in a different piece of legislation, and if the government stands as it is and Parliament stands as it is, it will go through those same processes. Is that correct?
