Tabling of Documents

Ms. Freeland (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance) laid upon the table, — Notice of a ways and means motion to introduce a bill entitled An Act to implement certain provisions of the fall economic statement tabled in Parliament on November 21, 2023 and certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 28, 2023. Pursuant to Standing Order 83(2), at the request of Ms. Freeland (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance), an order of the day was designated for the consideration of this ways and means motion.

Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Blanchet (Beloeil—Chambly), seconded by Mr. Fortin (Rivière-du-Nord), Bill C-367, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (promotion of hatred or antisemitism), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Presenting Petitions

Pursuant to Standing Order 36, petitions certified by the Clerk of Petitions were presented as follows:

— by Ms. Blaney (North Island—Powell River), one concerning fisheries (No. 441-01963) and one concerning the environment (No. 441-01964);

Business of Supply

The order was read for the consideration of the business of supply.

Mr. Poilievre (Carleton), seconded by Mr. Lobb (Huron—Bruce), moved, — That the House call on the unelected Senate to immediately pass Bill C-234, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, to remove the carbon tax on the farmers that feed Canadians, as passed by the democratically elected House.

Debate arose thereon.
