The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 81(4) and the order of reference of Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the committee undertake the consideration of the Main Estimates 2022–23, and that it invite the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth to appear for this study.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study of resource development and violence against Indigenous women and girls on Tuesday, April 26, 2022; that at least four meetings be held on that issue; that each witness hearing meeting take the form of one two-hour panel; that each panel be composed of six witnesses; that the parties send a list of witnesses to the clerk of the committee no later than 3:00 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, April 14.

It was agreed, — That, as part of the study of resource development and violence against Indigenous women and girls, the committee invite the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, the Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth, and the Commissioners of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

It was agreed, — That, as part of the study of resource development and violence against women, the committee accept briefs.

It was agreed, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee prepare, in consultation with the Chair, a news release in relation to the study of resource development and violence against Indigenous women and girls.

It was agreed, — That, as part of the study of resource development and violence against Indigenous women and girls, witnesses may appear in person or by videoconference, as they prefer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of intimate partner and domestic violence in Canada.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

At 2:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
