MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 5

Thursday, March 23, 2000

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Larry McCormick, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, André Harvey and Larry McCormick.

Acting Member present: David Chatters for Deborah Grey.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, the Sub-Committee proceeded to the consideration of Standing Order 87(6).

It was agreed, - That the meeting for the selection of votable items be held on April 5, 2000, at 3:15 p.m.

It was further agreed, - That a draft letter inviting all Members to comment on Standing Order 87(6) be prepared and discussed at the April 5, 2000 meeting.

At 10:00 a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
