Thursday, March 21, 2002
The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Miramichi, New Brunswick, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Paul Steckle, Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Researcher.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the Future Role of the Government in Agriculture.
Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture of New Brunswick: The Hon. Rodney Weston, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture; Maurice J. Bernier, Deputy Minister; Clair Gartley, Assistant Deputy Minister, Agriculture Development and Innovation Division.
The Minister made a statement and with Maurice Bernier and Clair Gartley, answered questions.
