The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:22 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.

Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Roy Bailey, Libby Davies, John Godfrey, Monique Guay, Diane St-Jacques, Tony Tirabassi and Alan Tonks.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Mackenzie, Research Officer.

Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development: Marta Morgan, Acting Director General, Children's Policy. From the Department of Health: Nicole Ladouceur, Director general, Program Policy, Transfer Secretariat and Planning, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch; Dr. David Fransen, Director general, Centre for Healthy Human Development, Population and Public Health Branch. From the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs: Kathleen Campbell, Director General, Social Policy and Programs Socio-Economic Policy and Programs.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on the future of children and youth in Canada.

Kathleen Campbell, Dr. David Fransen, Nicole Ladouceur and Marta Morgan made statements and answered questions.

At 4:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
