Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the opioid epidemic and toxic drug crisis in Canada.

Elaine Hyshka made a statement.

At 11:08 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

Meldon Kahan, Bohdan Nosyk and Marie-Ève Goyer made statements.

At 11:28 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the sitting was suspended.

At 11:55 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

At 12:00 p.m., Stephen Ellis took the Chair.

At 12:30 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

By unanimous consent, Robert Kitchen moved, — That the committee invite the Minister of Health and the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions to each appear for a one-hour meeting on Supplementary Estimates (C), 2023-24, and that the Ministers appear before the end of the supply period ending March 26, 2024.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.
