Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the committee resumed its study of oversight of medical devices (breast implants).

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Robert Kitchen moved, — That the committee extend its study of oversight of medical devices (breast implants) by one meeting to receive testimony from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research on their orthopedic registry.

Debate arose thereon.

By unanimous consent, the motion was withdrawn.

Motion

Matt Jeneroux moved, — That the committee invite the Canadian Institute for Health Information to provide a written response to the testimony received in the context of the study of oversight of medical devices (breast implants), with a particular focus on the Canadian Joint Replacement Registry and the potential housing of a breast implant registry within their organization.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 11; NAYS: 0.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
