Minutes of Proceedings
Yves Giroux made a statement and, with Chris Matier and Jill Giswold, answered questions.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,750, for the study of the Subject Matter of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2024-25, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That in relation to the access to information request received by Department of Finance and communicated to the committee on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to which documents related to the committee’s proceedings are not responsive, the committee instruct the clerk to authorize disclosure of said documents, with the understanding that they remain protected by parliamentary privilege.
It was agreed, — That the committee hear from the final witnesses on the study of Postal Service in Canada’s Rural and Remote Communities on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
At 12:34 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:42 p.m., the meeting resumed.
At 12:42 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.
It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the decision made on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the subcommittee on Government Operations and Indigenous Reconciliation hold its first meeting on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, following the committee’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Matthew Green moved, — That, as per the usual practice of House of Commons standing committees, the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates shall not meet during Parliament’s summer recess unless the requirements of s.106(4) of the Standing Orders are met.
Debate arose thereon.
Garnett Genuis moved, — That the motion be amended by adding the word “or” after the words “106(4)”.
At 1:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
