Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, February 15, 2023, the committee commenced consideration of Bill S-222, An Act to amend the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act (use of wood).

The Chair called Clause 1.

Richard Cannings and Diane Griffin made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 5,350.00, for the consideration of Bill S-222, An Act to amend the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act (use of wood), be adopted.

At 4:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Gregory Smith and Stéphan Déry made statements and, with Jean-Rock Tourigny, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of Canada’s clean energy plans in the context of North American energy transformation, the committee travel to the cities of Houston, Denver and Sacramento, United States, in the spring of 2023.

At 5:28 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
