Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Friday, September 23, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of the rights and freedoms of women globally and of women in Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Kaveh Shahrooz, Beatriz Gonzalez Manchón and Homa Hoodfar made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Arnold Viersen moved, — That the clerk of the committee be authorized to grant access to the committee's digital binder to the offices of the whips of each recognized party.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled the motion inadmissible as it does not relate to the subject at hand and does not fulfill the 48-hour notice requirement as provided in the routine motion adopted on Monday, January 31, 2022.

At 2:05 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Ketty Nivyabandi and Lauren Ravon made statements and, with Léa Pelletier-Marcotte, answered questions.

The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 7,225.00, for the study of Chinese government's residential boarding schools and preschools in the Tibet autonomous region and all Tibetan autonomous prefectures and counties, be adopted.

At 3:05 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
