Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, May 5, 2022, the committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2022-23: Vote 1 under Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, Vote 1 under Canadian Transportation Agency, Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Department of Transport, Vote 1 under Marine Atlantic Inc., Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Office of Infrastructure of Canada, Vote 1 under The Jacques-Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc., Vote 1 under VIA Rail Canada Inc., Vote 1 under Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, referred to the committee on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Canadian Air Transport Security Authority.

The Minister of Transport made a statement and, with Michael Keenan, Craig Hutton, Kevin Brosseau, Stephanie Hébert and Ryan Pilgrim, answered questions.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities made a statement and, with Kelly Gillis, Alison O'Leary and Glenn R. Campbell, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of Large Port Infrastructure Expansion Projects in Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $110,298.95, for the committee’s travel to St. John's, Newfoundland, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Montréal, Quebec, Hamilton- Niagara (region), Ontario, Vancouver, British Columbia, Prince Rupert, British Columbia and Seattle, Washington State, United States of America in the Fall of 2022, be adopted.

At 12:40 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

At 12:56 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
