JoAnn Jaffe, Pierre Maheux, Jason Roberts, Daniel Côté and Adele Perry made statements and, with Samuel Roy, answered questions.
At 12:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:38 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study of the government’s proposed high frequency rail (HFR) project between Quebec City and Toronto, as well as the projects of high frequency train between Calgary and Banff, and between Calgary and Edmonton, examining the advantages and disadvantages of the various options, including high frequency rail (HFR), in terms of ridership, route, stations, connectivity and cost. That the committee hold a minimum of four meetings on this study.
It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study on safety concerns related to the operation of small towing vessels on Canada’s west coast, and that the committee allocate a minimum of four meetings to this study.
It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study focusing how to create communities that are more resilient and sustainable in the face of climate change (infrastructure and housing), including the implementation of more resilient infrastructure and building products, and that the committee allocate a minimum of six meetings for this study.
