Meeting No. 2

Wednesday, May 22, 2002

The Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts on Combating Corruption met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: John Bryden, Odina Desrochers, Philip Mayfield, Shawn Murphy et John Williams.

Other Member present: Val Meredith.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Research Officers.

Witnesses: As Individual: John Williams, Member of Parliament. From the House of Commons: Luc Fortin, Deputy Principal Clerk, Parliamentary Associations, International and Inter-Parliamentary Affairs. From the Parliamentary Centre: Bob Miller, Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (1) and (2) and the Order of the Committee dated Tuesday, May 8, 2001, the Sub-Committee resumed a study relating to Combating Corruption.

Bob Miller and Luc Fortin made statements.

At 3:49 p.m., Shawn Murphy took the Chair as the Acting Chair.

John Williams made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:27 p.m., John Williams took the Chair.

At 4:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
