Wednesday, October 23, 2002
The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 4:25 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Scott Brison, Roy Cullen, Richard Harris, Sophia Leung, The Hon. Maria Minna, Pierre Paquette, Charlie Penson, Pauline Picard, Gary Pillitteri, Tony Valeri, Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Members present: Shawn Murphy for Joe McGuire, Pat Martin for Lorne Nystrom.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal Analyste; Blayne Haggart, and Marc-André Pigeon, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Bank of Canada: David A. Dodge, Governor; Malcolm Knight, Senior Deputy Governor.
Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1) the Committee study the consideration of the Bank of Canada's Monetary Policy Report.
David A. Dodge made a statement and with Malcolm Knight answered questions.
At 6:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
