Thursday, February 20, 2003
The
Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons
with Disabilities met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the
Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.
Members of the Committee
present: Peter
Adams, Libby Davies, John Finlay, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Monte Solberg
and Diane St-Jacques.
Acting Member present: Odina Desrochers for Suzanne
Tremblay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament:
Kevin Kerr and Chantal Collin , Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of Human
Resources Development: Hy Braiter, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister,
Service Delivery; Charles Nixon, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Insurance;
Doug Matheson, Director General, Service Delivery; Liliane Binette, Director
General, Insurances Services.
Pursuant to Standing Order
108(2), the Committee proceeded to review the Employment Insurance Service
Delivery.
Hy Braiter made a statement
and with the other witnesses answered questions.
At 4:48 p.m., the Committee
adjourned to the call of the Chair.
