Meeting No. 3

Monday, February 17, 2003

The Subcommittee on Public Service Renewal of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 5:40 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Co-Chair, Paul Forseth, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Roy Cullen, Paul Forseth and Judy Sgro.

Acting Member present: Odina Desrochers for Monique Guay.

In attendance: From the Library of parliament:  Jack Stilborn, Analyst.

Witnesses: From the Public Service Commission of Canada: Scott Serson, President. As an Individual: Arthur Kroeger; Dr. Peter Harrison, Former Chair, Leadership Network.

Pursuant to a motion of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates adopted November 26, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed a study on "A Modern and Accountable Public Service" (See Minutes of Proceedings of Monday, February 3, 2003).

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 6:15 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 7:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
