Good morning, everyone. I hope you are well rested after the summer break. So we are starting a new session of the year.
[English]
Honourable members of the committee, l see a quorum. We can now proceed to the election of the chair. I'm ready to receive motions to that effect. Please note that the candidate for this position must belong to the official opposition.

Mr. Warkentin has nominated Mr. McKay.
Are there any other nominations?
[Translation]
Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt this motion?
(Motion agreed to)
The Clerk: I declare Mr. McKay duly elected as chair of this committee.
[English]
Before the duly elected chair takes the chair, I would like to proceed, with the committee's consent, to the election of the first vice-chair of the committee.
[Translation]
The candidate must be a member of the governing party.
Are there any nominations?

Thank you. Congratulations to everyone.
And now I turn it over to you.
Merci à tous.
I think it was the campaign that really put us all over the edge.
I would like to use this time to accomplish a few things. I seek permission from the committee to go in camera, if that's in order.
Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: Absolument? Okay.
We will suspend for 30 seconds so we can actually do that.
