The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 8:48 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, John Carmichael, Cheryl Gallant, Dan Harris, Mike Lake, Hélène LeBlanc, Brian Masse, Phil McColeman, Hon. Geoff Regan, Lee Richardson, Kennedy Stewart and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Laurie Hawn for John Carmichael.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, May 1, 2012, the Committee commenced its study of the Intellectual Property Regime in Canada.
 

Sylvain Laporte and Gerard Peets made statements and, with Agnès Lajoie, Konstantinos Georgaras and Denis Martel, answered questions.

 

At 10:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
