Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of foreign ownership and corporate concentration of fishing licenses and quota.

Villy Christensen, Brad Mirau and Sonia Strobel made statements and answered questions.

At 4:58 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of population sustainability of Pacific salmon stocks, the proposed budget in the amount of $151,642.40, for the committee’s travel to the Yukon in the summer-fall of 2023, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, the proposed budget in the amount of $63,544.00, for the committee’s travel to Vancouver in the summer-fall of 2023, be adopted.

At 5:35 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
