It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,500, for the study of gender-based violence and femicides against women, girls and gender-diverse people, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of no less than eight meetings to examine the state of fertility in Canada, and that particular attention be given to the financial, medical, legal, and social barriers Canadians face in accessing assisted reproduction, adoption, and surrogacy; and that the committee also review existing federal supports, such as tax credits and parental leave provisions, and make recommendations to ensure equitable access to family-building options for all Canadians; that the committee report its findings to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee conduct an in-depth study over at least five meetings of how section 810 of the Criminal Code could be improved to ensure the safety of women and children; that the committee invite the Department of Justice and its officials to appear regarding changes to bail and sentencing regimes (C-75, An Act to amend the Criminal Code, the Youth Criminal Justice Act and other Acts and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, adopted during the first session of the 42nd Parliament; and C-5, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, adopted during the 44th Parliament) with respect to deterrence and recidivism rates in order to ensure the safety of women in Canada; that the committee invite the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, representatives of the Department of Justice, the Minister of Public Safety, police and law enforcement representatives, victims of domestic violence, and any other witnesses deemed suitable by the committee to appear; that the committee present its findings and recommendations to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on gender bias in artificial intelligence (AI), including whether AI systems may reinforce stereotypes, underrepresent women, and affect women’s participation in the AI workforce; that the study apply an intersectional lens to examine disproportionate impacts on Indigenous, racialized, immigrant, 2SLGBTQI+ and young women; that the committee hold no fewer than four meetings to hear from witnesses; that the committee invite the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation to appear for no less than two hours in connection with the study; and that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee conduct a study on the impact of gender-based violence in rural, remote, and northern communities across Canada, taking into account the experiences and impact on Indigenous and marginalized communities and the barriers that women in these communities face in accessing support services for gender-based violence, including shelters, counselling, legal aid, and healthcare; that the study examine the social, economic, and geographic factors that limit access, as well as strategies and policy measures to ensure timely, equitable, and culturally appropriate support for all rural women, including Indigenous and marginalized communities, across Canada; that this study be comprised of two meetings; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee conduct a study on antifeminist ideology and its impacts on young Canadians’ development and mental health; that the committee allocate at least four meetings to hearing witnesses; that the committee report its findings to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
