Presenting Reports from Committees

Hedy Fry (Vancouver Centre), from the Standing Committee on Health, presented the first report of the committee, "Saving More Lives: Improving Guidance, Increasing Access and Achieving Better Outcomes in Breast Cancer Screening". — Sessional Paper No. 8510-451-1.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.

Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Michelle Rempel Garner (Calgary Nose Hill), seconded by Andrew Lawton (Elgin—St. Thomas—London South), Bill C-216, An Act to enact the Protection of Minors in the Digital Age Act and to amend two Acts, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Don Davies (Vancouver Kingsway), seconded by Gord Johns (Courtenay—Alberni), Bill C-217, An Act to amend the Canada Student Financial Assistance Act and the Income Tax Act, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Motions

By unanimous consent, it was resolved, — That the House recognize the impressive work of the Sûreté du Québec and Ontario Provincial Police in the last few days following the disappearance of little Claire Bell and that it salute and thank the hundreds of volunteer, witnesses and groups who offered their support for the search operations and contributed in one way or another to the successful resolution of this case.
