The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:12 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Norman Doyle, Raymonde Folco, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Raymond Simard, Larry Spencer and Diane St-Jacques.

Acting Member(s) present: Carolyn Bennett for Serge Marcil, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral for Suzanne Tremblay and Wendy Lill for Libby Davies.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Witness(es): From the Department of Finance: Serge Nadeau, Director, Personal Income Tax Division, Tax Policy Branch; Kei Moray, Chief, Charities, Personal Income Tax Division, Tax Policy Branch. From the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency: David W. Miller, Assistant Commissioner, Assessment and Collections Branch; Kathy Turner, Director general, Benefit Programs Directorate, Assessment and Collections Branch.
