MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS (Meeting No.7 ) Monday, November 17, 1997 The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:36 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding. Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Gurmant Grewal, Steve Mahoney, Lynn Myers and John Williams. Acting Members present: Derek Lee for Sue Barnes, John Harvard for Elinor Caplan, Carmen Provenzano for Ivan Grose, Claude Drouin for Andrew Telegdi, Paul Mercier for Odina Desrochers. Other Member present: Lee Morrison. Witnesses: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O’Neal, Research Officer. From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Shahid Minto, Assistant Auditor General; Hugh McRoberts, Principal, Audit Operations. Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (3)(e), the Committee proceeded to a briefing for the meeting of November 18, 1997 in relation to Chapter 19 of the April and October 1997 Report of the Auditor General of Canada .(Transport Canada - - The Commercialization of the Air Navigation System) (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Tuesday, October 21, 1997, Meeting No. 3). Brian O’Neal briefed the Committee and, with the other witnesses, answered questions. At 5:17 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair. |
