The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Joe Fontana, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Jean Augustine, Leon Benoit, Bernard Bigras, Joe Fontana, Sophia Leung, Rick Limoges, Steve Mahoney, Pat Martin, David Price and Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Researcher.
Appearing: The Hon. Elinor Caplan, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.
Witnesses: From the Department of Citizenship and Immigration: Janice Cochrane, Deputy Minister; Joan Atkinson, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy and Program Development; Norman Sabourin, Registrar of Canadian Citizenship; Rosaline Frith, Director General, Integration.
