Wednesday, March 13, 2002
The Sub-Committee on National Security of the Standing Committee of Justice and Human Rights met at 4:03 p.m., this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Derek Lee, Peter MacKay, Lynn Myers, David Pratt, Geoff Regan and Kevin Sorenson.
Acting Member present: Andy Scott for Marlene Jennings.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Security Intelligence Review Committee: The Hon. Paule Gauthier, P.C., O.C., Q.C., Chair; Raymond Speaker, P.C., O.C., Committee Member; Susan Pollak, Executive Director; Rona Shaffran, Deputy Executive Director; Thomas Dastous, Senior Counsel.
Pursuant to a motion of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights adopted on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, the Sub-Committee commenced consideration of the Report of the Security Intelligence Review Committee, 2000-2001.
The Hon. Paule Gauthier made a statement and with the other witnesses answered questions.
At 5:34 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
