Monday, June 10, 2002
The Sub-Committee on National Security of the Standing Committee of Justice and Human Rights met at 3:32 p.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Marlene Jennings, Derek Lee, Peter MacKay, Geoff Regan, Kevin Sorenson and Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Member present: Mario Laframboise for Pierrette Venne.
Another Member present: Paul Macklin.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Department of Justice: Richard G. Mosley, Assistant Deputy Minister, Criminal Law Policy and Community Justice Branch. From the Department of the Solicitor General: Paul E. Kennedy, Senior Assistant Deputy Solicitor General, National Security.
Pursuant to a motion of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights adopted on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, the Committee commenced consideration of aspects of Bill C-36, including the design of the Federal and Provincial Statistical input and the plan for an appropriate format for parliamentary needs.
Richard Mosley made a statement, and with Paul Kennedy, answered questions.
At 4:44 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
