Tuesday, June 8, 1999
The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Deborah Grey, Mark Muise and The Hon. Andy Scott.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young, Research Officer.
Witness(es): From the Office of the Commissioner of Review Tribunals Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security: Peter Smith, Commisioner, Margaret McGrath, Deputy Commissioner, Tina Head, Senior Counsel and Chantal Favreau, Counsel.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) study of matters relating to the proposing, promoting, monitoring and assessing of initiatives aimed at the integration and equality of disabled persons in all sectors of Canadian Society
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), choice of the 1999 Centennial Flame Research Award winner.
Peter Smith made an opening statement and with the other witnesses answered questions.
It was agreed that Darrell Swain be the winner of the Centennial Flame Research Award for the year 1999.
At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
