MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
Meeting No. 5
Tuesday, April 4, 2000
The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Wendy Lill, Mark Muise.
Other Member present: Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young, and Julie Mackenzie, Research Officers.
The Sub-Committee discussed its future business.
It was agreed, - That the Sub-Committee hold a meeting, to hear G. Darrell Swain, last year's winner of the Centennial Flame Research Award and that the Sub-Committee offer appropriate hospitality.
It was agreed, - That the Sub-Committee hold a meeting on the Eldridge decision of the Supreme Court on May 3, 2000.
It was agreed, - That the Sub-Committee hold meetings on each subsequent Wednesday until June 14 in accordance with a work plan to be prepared by Research staff.
At 4:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
