Q-3962 — October 2, 2025 — Brad Vis (Mission—Matsqui—Abbotsford) — With regard to Canadian counter tariffs: (a) as of October 1, 2025, how much money was collected through the Canadian counter tariffs that came into effect on March 4, 2025; (b) how much of the money collected came from small businesses; and (c) how much of the money collected through these counter tariffs has been allocated to small business programs, in total and broken down by program? |
Q-3972 — October 2, 2025 — Brad Vis (Mission—Matsqui—Abbotsford) — With regard to the government's response to concerns from Canadian tire manufacturers that low-quality single-use truck and bus tires from China are being dumped on the Canadian market: (a) what is the government's response; (b) is the government considering implementing a similar tariff to the almost 90% rate imposed by the United States in 2019 to stop Chinese tires from being dumped on the market, and, if so, what is being considered; (c) is the government planning any other measures to stop the tire dumping, and, if so, what is planned; and (d) has the government done any analysis of the financial damage caused to Canadian tire manufacturers as a result of these tires being dumped on the market, and, if so, what were the findings of the analysis? |
Q-3982 — October 2, 2025 — Philip Lawrence (Northumberland—Clarke) — With regard to the terms and conditions imposed by the Minister of Finance on the sale of HSBC Canada to the Royal Bank of Canada in December 2023: (a) which of the terms have been fully met to the government's satisfaction as of October 2, 2025; (b) which of the terms have not been met to the government's satisfaction as of October 2, 2025; (c) for each of the terms that have not been met, what deadline has the government set for each to be met, and what are the consequences if they are not met; and (d) have any punitive measures been imposed on the Royal Bank of Canada related to not meeting the terms, and, if so, what are the details of such measures? |
Q-3992 — October 2, 2025 — Warren Steinley (Regina—Lewvan) — With regard to access to information and privacy coordinators and the concerns raised by the Information Commissioner that government departments are wrongly withholding records, including statistics, on the grounds that they are exempt from disclosure because they count as advice to ministers: (a) what is each government institution doing, if anything, to ensure that they are not abusing this exemption when processing requests; (b) since 2016, has the government disciplined any institution's access to information and privacy coordinators or employees for abusing this exemption or otherwise wrongfully withholding information, and, if so, what are the details, including the dates and incident summaries, of each instance; and (c) broken down by each institution governed by the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act, will the institutions abide by the Information Commissioner's recommendations and not abuse the advice to ministers exemption, beginning immediately, and, if not, why not? |

Q-4012 — October 2, 2025 — Cathay Wagantall (Yorkton—Melville) — With regard to the 2021 recommendation of the Veterans Ombud to the government concerning mental health treatment benefits for family members of veterans in their own right for the conditions related to military service, in which the Ombud recommended government funded mental health treatment independent of the veteran’s treatment plan and regardless of whether the veteran is engaging in treatment: (a) does it remain the position of the government that it accepts this recommendation, and, if not, when the did the position change; (b) what is the government’s current progress in implementing this recommendation; (c) what tangible steps have been taken to implement this recommendation, and on what date was each step taken; (d) how many times, and through which methods, has the government communicated with the Veterans Ombud or her office concerning the implementation of this recommendation, and on what dates did the communications occur; and (e) how many times has the Department of Veterans Affairs communicated with or received communication from other government departments or agencies related to the recommendation, and what are the details of each communication, including (i) the date, (ii) who was involved, (iii) the type of communication, (iv) a summary of what was communicated? |
