MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 8

Thursday, October 19, 2000

The Sub-Committee on International Financial Reporting Guidelines and Standards for the Public Sector of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 9:34 a.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Loyola Hearn, Steve Mahoney, Beth Phinney, John Richardson, Benoît Sauvageau and John Williams.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis and Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.

Pursuant to its mandate dated December 7, 1999 and September 26, 2000, the Sub-Committee proceeded to the consideration of the Final Draft Report of the Sub-Committee.

It was agreed, - That the Draft Report, as amended, be concurred in.

It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes to the Report as may be necessary without changing the substance of the Report.

It was ordered, - That the Chair of the Sub-Committee on International Financial Reporting Guidelines and Standards for the Public Sector report to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts that the Sub-Committee adopted the Draft Report dated October 16, 2000, as amended, and that the Sub-Committee recommends that the Report, as amended, be considered by the Standing Committee at a subsequent meeting during this Parliament or at the beginning of the next Parliament.

At 10:59 a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
