TUESDAY JUNE 2, 1998

 

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:33 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Paul Bonwick, Wendy Lill, Deepak Obhrai, Pat O’Brien, Louis Plamondon and Jacques Saada.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gaston Blais, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission:

Françoise Bertrand, Chairperson; Susan Baldwin, Executive Director, Broadcasting; Jean-Pierre Blais, Legal Counsel; Anne-Marie Des Roches, Manager, French Language Broadcasting Planning.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of a Canadian cultural policy.

Françoise Bertrand, Jean-Pierre Blais Susan Baldwin and Anne-Marie Des Roches answered questions.

At 1:03 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
