MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
Meeting No. 1
Wednesday, November 24, 1999
The Sub-Committee on Children & Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, for the purpose of electing a Chair.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Raymonde Folco, John Godfrey, Diane St-Jacques.
Acting Member(s) present: Gary Breitbreuz for Eric Lowther.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder and Bill Young, Research Officers.
The Clerk presided over the election of the Chair.
Raymonde Folco moved, - that John Godfrey be elected Chair of this Committee.
The question being put on the said motion, it was agreed to.
At 15:36 p.m., the Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.
It was agreed, -- That the Committee hear from experts, from grassroot, research and community support groups dealing with children issues with a view of preparing recommendations by December 15th, 1999.
At 4:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
