Wednesday, May 10, 2000
The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Raymonde Folco, Christiane Gagnon, John Godfrey and Ovid Jackson.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Mackenzie, Research Officer.
Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development Canada: Jean-Pierre Voyer, Director General, Applied Research Branch; Allen Zeesman, Director, Income Security and Social Development Studies, Applied Research Branch; Margo Craig Garrison, Special Advisor, Income Security and Social Development Studies, Applied Research Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (See minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday, February 29, 2000 - Meeting No.15), the Sub-Committee resumed its study on the future of children and youth in Canada with particular reference to early childhood development services.
Jean-Pierre Voyer and Allen Zeesman made statements and answered questions.
At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
