MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
Meeting No. 5
Wednesday, February 23, 2000
The Sub-Committee on Children & Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:55 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Raymonde Folco, John Godfrey, Ovid Jackson, Eric Lowther.
Acting Member(s) present: Angela Vautour for Diane St-Jacques.
In attendance from the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder, Research Officer.
The Sub-committee proceeded to discuss its future business.
It was agreed, - that the Sub-committee adopt in principle its workplan as follows:
- Update on the Canadian Policy Research Network's Synthesis Report - What is the Best Policy Mix for Canada's Children? and that Judith Maxwell be invited as a witness on Wednesday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m.. The CPRN's presentation may also include comments on the Budget in light of its proposals for an integration policy framework for children.
- That, after hearing the Budget Speech and receiving the update from the Canadian Policy Research Network (CPRN), the Sub-committee decide the sequence of undertaking a study of Early Childhood Development Services - What is the best Model? or a study of Work and Family - Best Practices on the Integration of Work and Family Responsibilities.
At 4:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
