Thursday, October 22, 1998
The Sub-Committee on the Study of Sport in Canada met, in a televised session, at 3:40 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Acting Chair, Denis Coderre, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Denis Coderre, Peter MacKay, Inky Mark, Pat O'Brien and George Proud.
Acting Members present: Claude Drouin for Dennis Mills; Gilles Perron for Suzanne Tremblay; Hector Clouthier for Albina Guarnieri.
Other Member present: Guy St-Julien.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Claude Blanchette, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Health Canada: Janet Davies, Acting Director General; Tim Weir, Acting Manager. From the The Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance: Sue Cousineau, Executive Director; Daniel Parthenais, Special Programs Director.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed consideration of the Study of Sport in Canada.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 5:45 o'clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
