WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 1998

The Sub-Committee on the Study of Sport in Canada of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 4:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 362-E, East Block, the Chair, Dennis Mills, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dennis Mills, Denis Coderre, George Proud and Suzanne Tremblay.

Other Member present: David Pratt, Reginald Bélair and John Solomon.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Claude Blanchette, Research Officer.

Witness: From CBC: Alan Clark, Head of Television Network Sports, English Service; and Daniel Asselin, Director of Sports Programs. From Netstar Sports: Jim Thompson, President; and Jacques Boucher, Vice-President Programming, "Le Réseau des sports (RDS)".

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed the consideration of the Study of Sport in Canada.

Daniel Asselin, Alan Clark, Jim Thompson and Jacques Boucher made opening statements and answered questions.

At 6:20 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
