MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
(Meeting No. 11)

Wednesday, November 26, 1997.

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met 3:32 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Gilles Bernier, Roy Cullen, Raymonde Folco, Ovid L. Jackson, Jerry Pickard, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré, Darrel Stinson and Brent St. Denis.

Acting Members present: Claude Drouin for Gerry Byrne; Larry McCormick for Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Jean-Luc Bourdages, Research Officer.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), an examination of the issues surrounding the Kyoto Conference on Climate Change.

The Committee examined a draft report.

It was agreed--That today's report be adopted, as amended, by the Committee and that the Chairman table it in the House of Commons as soon as possible.

It was agreed--That the report be entitled "The Kyoto Conference on Climate Change: Let's get the ball rolling".

That, pursuant to Standing 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to this report within 150 days.

It was agreed--That the Chairman be authorized to make such typographical and editorial changes as may be deemed necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed--That In Camera transcripts be made available only on request to members of the Committee and Committee Staff

At 3:45 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
