| In accordance with its Order of Reference of Wednesday, November 30, 2011, your Committee has considered Bill C-316, An Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act (incarceration), and agreed on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, to report it with the following amendments: | Conformément à son Ordre de renvoi du mercredi 30 novembre 2011, votre Comité a étudié le projet de loi C-316, Loi modifiant la Loi sur l’assurance-emploi (incarcération), et a convenu le mercredi 8 février 2012, d’en faire rapport avec les amendements suivants : |

| That Bill C-316, in Clause 1, be amended by replacing line 5 on page 1 with the following: | Que le projet de loi C-316, à l’article 1, soit modifié par substitution, à la ligne 5, page 1, de ce qui suit : |
Insurance Act is replaced by the following: (b) confined in a jail, penitentiary or other similar institution and was not found guilty of the offence for which the person was being held or any other offence arising out of the same transaction; | emploi est remplacé par ce qui suit : b) elle était détenue dans une prison, un pénitencier ou une autre institution de même nature et n’a pas été déclarée coupable de l’infraction pour laquelle elle était détenue ni de toute autre infraction se rapportant à la même affaire; |

4. Paragraphs 10(10)(a) and 152.11(11)(a) of the Employment Insurance Act, as enacted by sections 2 and 3, respectively, do not apply to the benefit period of a claimant or a self-employed person, as the case may be, in respect of any week for which the claimant or the self-employed person was confined in a jail, penitentiary or other similar institution before the coming into force of this Act. | 4. Les alinéas 10(10)a) et 152.11(11)a) de la Loi sur l’assurance-emploi, édictés par les articles 2 et 3, ne s’appliquent pas à la période de prestations du prestataire ou du travailleur indépendant, selon le cas, à l’égard de toute semaine pendant laquelle il était détenu dans une prison, un pénitencier ou un autre établissement semblable avant l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi. |
